Barcelona's exhibitions

I found this pictures from when I went to Barcelona one day from last year. Even the exhibitions I feature are not available right now, I think the pictures are interesting too, so I wanted to share them anyways.

With our school some days we went to Barcelona to see exhibitions, that day we went to see art galleries (I think we saw about 10, a lot of information!) As the train is expensive, I wanted to go at the morning and meet Pablo Fungi. I met him by his blog from years ago, and then he moved to Barcelona, so we thought that could be cool to meet us. He bring me to Galeria Cosmo, that is a cafe where the walls are a canvas to the artists to exhibit their artwork.

After, I went by foot to Caixa Forum (I was so hard because it was more than 2 kilometers long, but I'm student and I have no money...) I saw pretty buildings, I think the best of the big cities is this, and I enjoyed my walk.

Vi a Van Gogh Degas, Cezanne Courbet...

Mainly, I went there to see the exhibit "mpressionistes i moderns", with artwork from a museum from United States. I saw Van Gogh, Degas, Cezanne, Courbet... and Modigliani and Pollock in person! (but from this last, it wasn't a drop painting and I felt a bit dissapointed...)

After I went to see the other exhibitions. For me was strange, because it was the first time that I went alone to see a big exhibition and I needed someone to told my impressions about the artworks.

After Caixa Forum, I went to the rooftop of the "Las Arenas" (a mall on a reconverted bullring) and after I went to have lunch and I went by foot again to the city center, where I went to a few shops to make time till the meeting with my teachers.

In a gallery we saw this artist that made sculptures and paintings with dissolved plastic.

In another, we saw this artist that phirographed the faces of famous characters. Here are my favourites: Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Alez, the main character from A Clocwork Orange and even Keith Haring!

The exhibit from the last gallery was my favourite, there were collages of old models related to other pictures.

I didn't know that Jesus has slaves :(

And then, we went home. It was a cool day, I enjoyed a lot seeing tons of different art, but I got tired to walk!

And last, I want to know your opinion! What do you prefer: at the posts of places, do you like to see first the pictures and then a text talking about them or explanations between the pictures? I never know which is better!

  3. I love art and I love Europe. This post combines two of my favourite things. Europe is lovely because it has virtually open boarders and another country isn't a whole ocean and 8 hr flight away.

The text before the picture is what I personally prefer.

  4. For me it is all the same, pictures first or text first- whatever is easier for you. It was lovely seeing all of these art pieces. You saw a lot of beautiful paintings...so lovely! I like that art installation made of plastic too. Those paintings made with fire are pretty cool as well.

So great you met Pablo! I love his blog.

  5. Some of those artworks are so beautiful and unique! Visiting art galleries and exhibitions are usually the highlights of my trips abroad. I could spend all day in a gallery, just looking. I think I prefer seeing the picture before the text. That way I can interpret myself first and see how wrong or right I was.

Abstain to comment if you only will say "visit my blog" or "I follow you if you follow me".
